After getting your lash extensions, it’s important to take proper care of them during the first 24 hours to ensure their longevity and maintain their beautiful appearance. Here are some important guidelines to follow:
Avoid touching the lash extensions: Try to avoid touching, rubbing, or pulling on your lash extensions during the first 24 hours. This allows the lash adhesive to fully cure and the lashes to settle in their proper place.
Keep lashes dry: Avoid water contact with your lash extensions for the first 24 hours. This means avoiding activities such as swimming, steam rooms, saunas, and hot showers during this time. Moisture can weaken the lash adhesive and cause the extensions to come off prematurely.
Be cautious with makeup remover: Avoid using oily makeup removers or any products containing oil around your lash extensions, as oil can weaken the lash adhesive. Instead, use a gentle, oil-free makeup remover and be careful not to rub or pull on your lashes while removing makeup.
Skip mascara: With lash extensions, you won’t need mascara as they are designed to provide a full and voluminous look on their own. Using mascara on your lash extensions can cause clumping, damage the lashes, and shorten their lifespan. If you really want to add some extra drama, ask your Lash Extension Stylist for a recommendation on lash-safe mascara.
Avoid sleeping on your face: Try to avoid sleeping on your face during the first 24 hours after getting lash extensions. The pressure and friction from sleeping on your lashes can cause them to become misaligned or fall off prematurely.
Be cautious with extreme temperatures: Exposure to extreme temperatures, such as steam, sauna, or excessive heat, can weaken the lash adhesive. It’s best to avoid these activities during the first 24 hours after getting lash extensions.
